Hi My name is Kenneth Ferriera. Currently, I am a Staff Photographer for the Lincoln Journal Star, with prior experience at the Greensboro News & Record, Omaha World-Herald, Cedar County News,HuskerVision, and The Daily Nebraskan. I graduated from the University of Nebraska- Lincoln with a major in journalism with an emphasis in photographic and video storytelling
I was born in Montgomery, Alabama but grew up in Cheyenne, Wyoming in an Air Force family. The rest of my family is scattered throughout North Carolina, where I spent the majority of my summers. My time in the Midwest brought me a new appreciation for the wonder and beauty of the “flyover states,” and the big-hearted people who live there. I love to talk to people and not just hear what they have to say but to listen intently and learn.
I recently became a licensed drone pilot and am able to fly commercially.
Camera in hand, I love exploring topics that I have yet to understand. I hike, rock climb, watch documentaries, and try not to fall off any mountains (It’s only happened once). Anything that keeps me on the move is my happiness.
